We welcome first timers and old hands alike - everyone will enjoy a warm, supportive reception and of course, you're very welcome to come
and listen.

We hold Performers' Nights when we are hosts to anyone who wants to sing, play or even recite. Performers who arrive well before the start time of 8.00 p.m. are always guaranteed at least two items, so long as those two items fit into a ten-minute time slot. We have nothing against P.A. - we just don't use one on these nights - it's a good room to sing in and a polite, well-trained, listening audience. If you prefer to perform at a specific time, please ask.

Monday at 8.00 p.m. to 10.30 p.m.

Rowington Folk Club

Rowington Folk Club

Rowington Folk Club is a very friendly and informal gathering of musicians, singers and storytellers. The club will continue to meet on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.

Rowington Folk Club welcomes anyone who would like to sing, play, recite or listen! The hosts, Pete Grassby and John Penn, start the proceedings off every month and the format is then a couple of songs from the floor singers, followed by a couple of songs from the guest. This continues until we run out of time! The repertoire is very wide, from traditional songs and tunes to self-penned and contemporary material. There's no admission price but we pass the jug during the evening to cover the guests' travelling expenses.

Rowington Folk Club every
3rd Wednesday of every month.
8.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m.

Held at :

The Old Fourpenny Shop Hotel

Jack Blackman

Jack Blackman

Jack Blackman is a very talented young guitarist. About a couple of years ago his father came to me with one of his acoustic guitars for me to do some work on. His father told me that Jack was already a very talented musician and was only 14. I have heard many doting fathers praising their sons abilities and never thought any more of it.
My brother-in-law chanced across Jack on the radio recently and was so taken aback he went out and bought his CD and gave it to me to listen to. Wow! The cogs started working and I finally put two and two together!.
When his name appeared for a gig at the Warwick Arts we all went to see him and all I can say is - if he is this good now I can't wait to see how great he will go on to be! Better still check him out yourselves!
