This car has been owner by me from new - 'Inferno Red' 2002, Fully Serviced. Sept 2017 MOT has 52314 miles - that's about 3500 miles per annum on average . For a diesel they say it is just 'run-in'. The diesel engine is a Mercedes 2.2. litre common rail diesel engine as used in the Mercedes-Benz C-class and E-class and does about 40mpg. Service Book Fully stamped. The rear seats can be easily removed to create a van/covered pickup effect and therefore increasing the carrying capacity. This car is set to become a classic - may already be considered that by some owners.
From new, the car has had oil changes at 6,000 miles and at 12K, 24K, 36K and 48K - all using Mobil One Turbo Oil. This may seem excessive but it looks after the engine. The car has been regularly serviced by a Bosch Franchise Garage locally. A full service history is available if required.
The gearbox was changed within 12 months of purchase under warranty.
The whole suspension rubbers have been changed with Energy's Polyurethane HyperFlex bushes amounting to £200 worth of parts - as seen below. This has made the car very positive in handling and steering. It also eliminated the need for expensive replacement bushes which is a known issue on the front, cost saving for replacements at £300 per 6000 miles for standard bushes! These were fitted at 28,704 miles so has done 23610 since fitting urethanes.
HyperFlex Lower Control Arm Bush Set is £75
HyperFlex Front Stabiliser Anti-roll Bar Bush set is £ 30
HyperFlex Front Stabiliser Bar End Links £22
HyperFlex Rear Stabiliser Anti-roll Bar Bush set is £ 25
HyperFlex Rear trailing Arm Bush Set £26
HyperFlex Rear Watts Link Bush Set £21
The labour cost for fitting the above was over £1000.
It has had new calipers and brake discs along with new pads, track control arms and drive shaft.- see MOT for replaced parts
A new Indicator arm was fitted - early models failed.
Recently, new tyres have been fitted. Old original wheels and tyres are being sold with the car should someone wish to convert back to them.
Additional items being sold with the car (included in price):
A Haynes Manual for this car together with a CD Manual in PDF form.
This car has wanted for nothing and the only reason for selling it is due to memories relating to recently deceased parents.
